CARE TIPS

TAKING CARE OF YOUR JEWELLERY

Babette Wasserman jewellery is handmade, we use the highest quality of raw materials and have two decades of experience in making the finest quality jewellery. Handling your jewellery with care will keep it looking good for even longer!

LADIES JEWELLERY

The majority of our ladies jewellery is crafted from sterling silver. We then plate it with Rhodium, 18 carat Rose Gold or 18 carat Yellow Gold. Necklaces, bracelets and earrings are plated with 1-2 microns, rings are plated with 3 microns of gold.

To keep your jewellery looking pristine and new, we recommend using a dry lint free cloth such as the cloth used to wipe spectacles to wipe the surface of your jewellery and restore its shine.

We advise you to remove your jewellery before showering or bathing. Avoid wearing your jewellery in the sea or when applying creams or using bleach or other strong chemicals, this could damage the metal and tarnish the plating.

The plating will tarnish over time however we do offer a plating service should your jewel need re-plating. Depending on when it was bought there may be a charge for this.

STONE-SET JEWELLERY

It is highly advisable not to wear your jewellery whilst bathing or washing your hands with hot water as this may loosen the stones. Try to avoid hard knocks or surfaces that may cause scratches, silver is a soft metal and will mark relatively easily.

Cubic Zirconia Crystals and Swarovski Crystals TM are fragile, please treat them as you would a crystal glass, with great care.

Using mild soap and a soft toothbrush and tepid water is a wonderful way to brighten up dull stones, rub gently and then rinse carefully.

Keep your jewellery stored in its box or pouch on its own to avoid scratching other items of jewellery.

MEN’S JEWELLERY
